Tire King Tire & Auto Repair, owned by Peter Tomasic in Wappingers Falls, is literally a dream come true. Peter, emigrated from the former Yugoslavia and always wanted to own his own shop.
When his son (also named Peter) graduated high school in 1988, father and son went into business together, with the elder Tomasic handling the mechanical side and his namesake taking care of the customers and the business side.
“We kind of mortgaged the house and made it happen.” Back then, Tire King Tire & Auto Repair lived up to its name, but over 25 years, it evolved into a more traditional repair shop.
At 75-years-old Peter Sr. still comes to work on the cars every day!
Regular customers have been the lifeblood of the shop for 25 years. Peter remembers toddlers coming in with their parents years ago. Now he services the cars of those college-aged children.
Tire King Tire & Auto Repair became AAA-Approved in 2011.
